-6 Ciara

Ciara is a illegitimate child between a high ranking shogan and a village girl. Mother had to sell herself to survive, so she was on her own for most of the time, while she conducted business. One day while playing war with the neighborhood kids she snuck in to a house and was caught when she jumped on the son of the house owner. The master of the house is her father, and the boy her half brother. She is taken in to be a servant, doing petty work. Until she sees the samurais practice. She is caught by her father, while mimicking the kata sessions. Seeing the talent the young girl has decides to train her as the family bodyguard.

Years pass, she is well beyond with her skill with the sword. But tragedy struck when she finds that her father has committed dishonor to his lord, so to save the family he must perform seppuku. He asked her to be his kaishaku (decapitator). This incident was the catalyst for a war between houses, where his brother led. By his side she fought, but it wasn't enough. He was killed, and she was captured. The other side found out that she was female, and when she refused to join them they denied her death. She escapes leaving a trail of bodies behind her. She throws away her name, and becomes a ronin.

A year later she runs into a girl with red hair. She is being chased by some men thinking her a witch. Ciara scares them off, but the girl starts to follow her around. The redhead names herself Yuri, after the Lily flower. When asked of her name all she could explain through body language is that she had darkness in her heart. So Yuri names her Ciara. And for thanks Yuri gives Ciara a cross pendant. Which Ciara carries around tied to her sword.
